Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Talknet Counseling website (talknetcounseling.com) or any of our telehealth services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site.

Eligibility

Our services are available to individuals who are at least 18 years of age, or minors with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

Changes to Terms

Talknet Counseling reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our website or services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

Services & Limitations

Nature of Services

Talknet Counseling provides licensed telehealth counselling services in Florida, Virginia, and North Carolina. Our services are provided by licensed mental health professionals. All counselling services are subject to a formal intake process, clinical assessment, and a signed client services agreement.

Not Emergency Services

Our telehealth services are NOT intended for mental health emergencies. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or are in immediate danger, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.

Telehealth Limitations

Telehealth services have inherent limitations compared to in-person care. You acknowledge that technology failures may occasionally disrupt sessions and that your counsellor may determine that telehealth is not appropriate for your specific needs. In such cases, we will assist you in finding appropriate in-person care.

Licensure & Geographic Restrictions

Our counsellors are licensed in specific states. Services may only be provided to clients physically located in a state where the treating counsellor holds an active licence. It is your responsibility to ensure you are located in an eligible state at the time of each session.

Your Responsibilities

Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and throughout your use of our services. Providing false or misleading information may result in termination of services.

Appropriate Use

You agree to use our website and services only for lawful purposes. You may not use our services to harass, threaten, or harm others; to transmit any unlawful, harmful, or objectionable content; or to interfere with the proper functioning of our website or services.

Session Conduct

You agree to attend scheduled sessions in a private, appropriate environment. You agree not to record sessions without the prior written consent of your counsellor. You agree to treat all staff and counsellors with respect. Abusive or threatening behaviour will result in immediate termination of services.

Payment Obligations

You are responsible for all fees associated with your counselling services, including any co-pays, deductibles, or self-pay amounts. Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in writing. Unpaid balances may be referred to a collections agency.

Cancellation Policy

We require at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee as outlined in your client services agreement.

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Florida.
